“This session will take the audience through the contract negotiation and relationship management process to ensure successful incorporation of measurable and achievable features and functionality of data systems for capturing human services. Implement scopes of work that can make the difference between a successful vendor-lead relationship and one that struggles to meet basic software and reporting needs. Community perspectives will be provided, as will templates and other useful tools.

“Mary Schwartz, M.A. is an Abt Associate with over a decade of homeless system implementation experience. Mary is the national VA Subject Matter Expert and RHY Subject Matter Expert for the HMIS Data Standards and Data Work Group, staffs the HMIS AAQ help desk for HUD, provides SSVF Data Technical Assistance for grantees submitting monthly repository uploads, provides TA for communities in the areas of HMIS implementation and systems performance reporting, and participates as a member of the HMIS Lead Mini Team under the SNAPS Data Strategy. Prior to her Abt work, Mary was the Performance Manager for the State of WA’s Housing Assistance Unit, overseeing HMIS and Housing Trust Fund staff and data systems, and leading performance evaluation efforts to ensure an end to homelessness in Washington state.
